The Defiance Act passes in the Senate, potentially allowing deepfake victims to sue over nonconsensual images

The production of nonconsensual sexually explicit deepfakes has skyrocketed since 2023, first becoming popular with the likenesses of female public figures like influencers, politicians and celebrities. Cases have also sprung up at middle and high schools around the world, with teen girls frequently being victimized by their male classmates. While the trend has overwhelmingly targeted women and girls, men have also been depicted in deepfakes.

Even if you think police are acting unlawfully, fleeing from police or evading detainment can be dangerous. Know your rights and if you think police are acting incorrectly, to record the interaction and stick to a script. Indicate that you are not consenting to a search and let the officers know you will not speak except with an attorney,” he said. “You have to make it clear that, if you believe that you are being arrested, that you say, ‘I want my attorney.'”

New Michigan law targets ‘flushable’ wipes

Manufacturers are no longer allowed to market the wipes in Michigan as “flushable.” In fact, they are required to include the words “Do Not Flush” and a symbol dissuading people from sending the sturdy fabrics to sewage treatment plants.
The wipes are infamously known for clogging pumps, requiring constant maintenance and costly cleaning expenses.
