Judge drops remaining murder charge against Michael Jackson-Bolanos

A Wayne County Circuit Court judge on Friday dropped the remaining murder charge against the suspect in the killing of prominent Detroit Jewish leader and political activist Samantha Woll.
Van Houten threw out the felony murder charge, as well as the home invasion charge, after the defense filed a motion to dismiss, arguing case precedent would forbid the prosecution from retrying the deadlocked charges.

National Public Data Sued for Hack that Exposed Data of 2.9 Billion People

A class-action complaint has been filed against a background-check company in connection to a data breach in April that exposed sensitive personal data of more than 2.9 billion people that the hackers later reportedly tried to sell on the dark web for $3.5 million.
