Amazon Prime Day is a big event for scammers

Prime Day, a two-day discount event for Amazon Prime members, kicks off on Tuesday and runs through Wednesday. In updated guidance published last week, the Better Business Bureau reminded consumers to watch out for lookalike websites, too-good-to-be-true social media ads, and unsolicited emails or calls during sales events this month.

New Michigan law requires HOAs to allow rooftop solar

People who want to install solar panels on their roofs have to consider a lot: sunlight, cost, and coordinating with contractors and utilities.
Tens of millions of people across the country also have to think about their homeowners association.
In Michigan, a new law aims to remove that barrier by telling those associations they have to allow rooftop solar.
The Homeowners’ Energy Policy Act was signed into law by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer on Monday.

Michigan Senate committee moves prefab homes bill to floor

A package of Senate Bills 486-490 could address this by overhauling Michigan’s mobile home park law for the first time since 1987. The bills cleared a hurdle last month when they passed through committee with an 8-3 vote and are now headed to the Senate for a vote
A similar set of bills was introduced three years ago but died in session after being OK’d by House. This time around the legislation is heading to a Senate vote after passing through committee.
