Federal law creates stability standards for new furniture to help prevent tip-over accidents

This year, the Consumer Product Safety Commission will set minimum stability standards for new furniture that holds clothing. with the new STURDY Act.

The new law will strengthen furniture testing for real world situations such as when furniture is on carpet or when children climb on or pull on the drawers.

Michigan’s $81 Million Opioid Settlement Distribution

Michigan is anticipating over $1.45 billion from opioid settlements. This includes some settlements that are still in process. The opioid settlement funds that the State of Michigan receives will be directed to the Michigan Opioid Healing and Recovery Fund.
