The brownfield program in Michigan provides reimbursements for costs associated with redeveloping contaminated, blighted or historic properties through tax increment financing (TIF) which works by capturing an increase in taxes stemming from the redevelopment. Police departments acknowledge they haven’t been in a hurry to write tickets for hands-free distracted driving since the expanded law went into effect on June 30 As of Friday, the Grand Rapids Police Department had issued one ticket since that ban went into effect for using a cell phone while driving except for emergencies.
