Communities concerned about their local speed limits will have more freedom to make a change under a new Michigan law.
Signed into law by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer on Tuesday, April 2, the legislation gives municipalities more flexibility with their speed limit changes following a speed study, and reduces spending by removing a previously required engineering and safety study from the process.
